Che: Part One Empty Che: Part One

Pretty much following on from The Motorcycle Diaries, Che finely leads us through the decisions and actions that led Fidel Castro to power.

It feels a lot like a documentary with its mix of black and white interview footage and old news clips.

Benicio Del Toro makes Che come across really human. Even when he has to make decisions and do things that seem out of step with his general good humor and understanding.

The sense of comradeship between the guerrillas is portrayed quite delicately and with gentle seriousness. Even if you didn't agree with their methods and reasoning you could still respect them. They all seem like good people just trying to make a difference against a force which is impossibly big compared to them.

Second part out soon.
