Pride and Glory Empty Pride and Glory

Went into this film not really expecting too much.
It was however one of the most powerful films I've seen in a long time. It has a kind of classic feel with its gritty deep blue NYC police look and unusual use of lens flares but the character's are really strong.
There's a scene towards the end that really got me, when a holdup has gone wrong in a shop and a mob starts to form and it manages to convey a really animal and scary sense of tension.

It's hard to discuss it really without giving too much away which is a shame.

anyways, i recommend it.

Pride and Glory Empty Re: Pride and Glory

okay, so i just looked to see what other reviews said about this film and it seems that the old-school style that i really liked is not so liked elsewhere.
I think its kinda clever to make a film like this at this time. I liked that it was structured like you'd expect and kinda felt like it had been done before. For me it was like watching my idea of cop films from the eighties or something. Obviously i haven't seen many so it just worked that my ideas of this genre were the same as what Pride and Glory did.

so, to read some stuff about how bad it all is,
